The largest strawberry ever recorded was grown by Koji Nakao in Japan in 2015. It weighed 250 grams (8.8 ounces) and measured over 8 centimeters (3 inches) in diameter. Nakao used a special growing method that allowed him to produce exceptionally large strawberries. However, this strawberry was not officially recognized by the Guinness World Records. The current record for the largest strawberry recognized by Guinness is held by Roberto Lobos from Chile, whose strawberry weighed 231 grams (8.14 ounces) in 2009.
