The world’s largest strawberry cake was made in Japan in 2015. It was over 1 tonne in weight, and over 5 meters in length. The cake was made to celebrate the city of Fukuoka’s 200th anniversary, and was made by over 50 local pastry chefs. The cake, which is a symbol of the city, was made with over 450 kilograms of strawberries, 320 kilograms of cream, and 170 kilograms of sponge. It took over 10 hours to assemble, and was cut into slices and served to thousands of people at a public event. The cake was recognized by the Guinness World Records as the largest strawberry cake ever made.
