Strawberry jam and preserve recipes

Strawberry Jam Recipe:

Ingredients:
-4 cups of strawberries, hulled and chopped
-2 cups of sugar
-1/4 cup of lemon juice

Instructions:
1. In a large saucepan, combine the strawberries, sugar and lemon juice.
2. Bring the mixture to a boil over high heat, stirring occasionally.
3. Reduce the heat to medium and cook for 15-20 minutes or until the mixture thickens, stirring frequently.
4. Check the jam readiness by pouring a teaspoon of the jam onto a chilled plate and run your finger through it, if the jam parts easily and doesn’t run back, it’s ready.
5. Let the mixture cool down slightly, then transfer it to sterilized jars.
6. Allow the jam to cool down completely before serving or storing.

Strawberry Preserve Recipe:

Ingredients:
-4 cups of strawberries, hulled and chopped
-2 cups of sugar
-1/4 cup of lemon juice
-1 tbsp of butter

Instructions:
1. In a large saucepan, combine the strawberries, sugar and lemon juice.
2. Bring the mixture to a boil over high heat, stirring occasionally.
3. Reduce the heat to medium and cook for 20-25 minutes or until the mixture thickens, stirring frequently.
4. Add the butter to the mixture and stir it in well, this will help prevent foam from forming on the jam.
5. Reduce the heat to low and let the preserve cook for another 10 minutes.
6. Check the preserve readiness by pouring a teaspoon of it onto a chilled plate and run your finger through it, if the preserve parts easily and doesn’t run back, it’s ready.
7. Let the mixture cool down slightly, then transfer it to sterilized jars.
8. Allow the preserve to cool down completely before serving or storing.
